7 Cancer Causers To Avoid

I am a supporter of telling people what they should eat instead of what they should not…however this list contains my top 7 foods to AVOID to reduce risk of cancer…and you may be surprised!

🍵Yerba mate is a drink that with repeated ingestion is linked to certain cancers like esophageal, prostate and bladder cancer. It sometimes is touted and used in health shakes but in my opinion, it is worth avoiding

🥜Aflatoxin is a mold that grows on certain foods like corn and peanuts. YOU DON’T have to avoid these foods but do discard dark colored peanuts in their shells

🍔Char marks form when grilling or cooking at high temps and are a by-product of heterocyclic amines (HCAs). Trim around the char marks, cook in a pan instead of directly on a grill and or use herbs like rosemary which help reduce the amount of HCAs formed on meat when cooking

💊Iron-take supplemental iron only as needed. Iron works as an oxidant when ingested in amounts beyond what we need

🤢H.pylori is a food borne bacteria linked with stomach cancer if not treated. Most symptoms are gastritis/acid reflux so many times it can go undiagnosed for some time. Different anti microbial herbs and spices like garlic, onions, oregano, cinnamon, turmeric, ginger and fennel may help protect against an H.pylori infection

🥓Minimize consumption of nitrates and nitrites from processed meats. They are associated with increased risk of certain cancers like colorectal cancer

🍑Apricot seeds are used as a cancer protective remedy but in fact they contain cyanide, a poisonous chemical. Avoid!!
